Beauty and grace
Screen Printing, Photo Manipulation, Hand Drawing
Inspired by the bold spirit of Vivienne Westwood, this scarf collection explores the intricate relationship between women and beauty, pushing beyond surface-level aesthetics. This design explores the multifaceted nature of women, their relationship to beauty and sexuality. Emulating the God Save the Queen t-shirt design that Westwood and Malcolm McLaren made in 1977, the central motif is myself obscured by flora to convey the struggles with my self-image and included words that commonly are associated with women and are often internalized at a young age due to the sexist narrative surrounding women, their appearance, and sexuality.
